Soloists
For most concerts, distinguished visiting soloists are engaged.
Whenever appropriate, these have included former Shropshire students now in the profession and in recent years from among them have come soloists for violin, viola, 'cello, flute, horn and piano concertos.
Also, whenever possible, members are encouraged to offer solos and members have been soloists in concertos for clarinet, horn, recorder and in an orchestral song-cycle.
